Give Suggestions For The Progress Of Mineral Industries -B. Vinod Kumar
Hyderabad, June 13 : The State vice chairman of planning commission B. Vinod Kumar today said that the mineral industries were facing huge losses due to corona and added that even the ongoing difficult times should be converted into progress. He suggested engineers to put across a detailed proposal to the State Government. He spoke in the webinar organised by the Institute of engineers, Telangana centre in the city on the topic ‘ Effect of covid on mineral industries.
He said that the corona effect was on all industries in all countries of the world and added that when many foreign industries were looking to move from China to India, the difficult time could be converted into an opportunity and move towards progress while noting that suitable strategies must be worked out for the purpose . He said that he fought in the parliament for jobs for women in the mineral industry and hence amendments were made to the 1952 bill. He urged the women to utilise the opportunity and the managements should also give opportunities to women.
Kumar said that the mineral industries and engineers should increase production by taking all covid precautions. “Only with increase in production will the mineral industry prosper. Till we are rid of covid 19 virus, the engineers have to take personal care and concentrate more on new inventions and a new thought process needs to be developed, he said.
Mining experts from India, Australia and Sweden spoke at this webinar. Papers were presented by Dr. Lakshmi chikatamarla, Deepesh Deepu, Bidyut Chakraborthy, P.K Satapati, . K. Ravishankar, P. Sharat Kumar, Bhavish Samvi, Diego Gallar. Dr. G. Rajeswar, chairman of IEI was the head of the open ing and closing sessions. Convenor B. Ramesh kumar, honorary secretary T. Kannaiah and Venkatramaiah participated.
